Defender Allyson Swaby signed a two-year contract with an option for the 2024 season with Angel City FC on Dec. 21, 2021. In 2018, she joined AS Roma and appeared in 55 matches. She won the highly-competitive Italian Coppa Italia competition in 2021 when Roma defeated AC Milan 1-0 on penalties. This was the first major trophy on the women's side of AS Roma. She started her professional international career at the Icelandic club Knattspyrnufélag Fjarðabyggðar. As a captain during her senior year at Boston College, Swaby started all 20 games and logged 1815 minutes. As a junior, she won the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award. Swaby is an active member of Common Goal, a pledge-based organization that works to unite the global football community in tackling social challenges. Her younger sister Chantelle Swaby is also a Jamaican international footballer playing for Rangers FC in Scotland.
